Certain
types
of
fish
can
taste
a
little
too
fishy.
Here’s
RecipesofItaly.com’s
method
to
remedy
this
situation.
This
method
works
for
most
fish,
but
is
particularly
suited
to
those
such
as
mackerel
and
sardines.
Rinse
the
fish
fillets
thoroughly
in
cold
water
and
place
them
in a
pot
or
deep
sauté
pan.
Fill
the
pot
with
water
so
that
it
covers
the
fish
by 1
– 2
inches.
To
the
water
add
1
large
stalk
of
celery
cut
into
large
pieces,
2 –
3
medium
cloves
of
peeled
garlic,
peel
of ½
of a
lemon,
½
cup
packed
parsley
(including
the
stems),
2
bay
leaves,
1 –
2
teaspoons
apple
cider
vinegar
(or
½
cup
of
white
wine),
and
1
tablespoon
of
extra
virgin
olive
oil.
Place
the
pan
over
medium-high
heat
and
bring
the
water
to a
simmer.
Simmer
the
fish
for
10 –
12
minutes
or
until
it
is
cooked.
Once
the
fish
has
finished
cooking,
carefully
remove
the
fillets
and
place
them
on a
plate
or
tray.
To
further
remove
any
strong
fish
odor,
remove
the
skin
from
the
fillets.
At
this
point,
the
fillets
are
ready
for
serving
or
they
can
be
added
to
your
favorite
recipes.
