An authentic Italian recipe from our kitchen to yours. Buon Appetito!

Ingredients

- 1/2 recipe Quick and Easy Pizza Dough

- 2/3 cup Home-Style Tomato Sauce

- 1 ball Buffalo Mozzarella (Mozzarella di Bufala Campana)

Directions

1.  Preheat oven to 500 degrees. If using a pizza stone for baking, preheat your stone on the bottom rack of your oven for at least 1 hour prior to baking your pizza.

2.  Dice the buffalo mozzarella.

3.  Roll out and shape the dough to your desired shape and thickness. The thinner the dough, the crispier the pizza crust. If using a pizza peel, place semolina flour or a bit of cornmeal on your peel and then place the pizza dough on the peel. If baking the pizza in a pan, make sure the pan is non-stick. Otherwise, line your pan with parchment paper to prevent the pizza sticking to the pan.

4.  Using a fork, make holes throughout the dough so that it doesn’t develop bubbles while cooking.

5.  Top pizza dough with the tomato sauce, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edge of the dough so the crust develops, and then add the diced mozzarella.

6.  Place the pizza in the oven (on the bottom rack) and cook for 6 – 8 minutes or until the crust is a golden brown.

7.  Remove the pizza from the oven immediately and let cool for approximately 3 -5 minutes. Slice and serve.
